Logitech, you're f*ck3d

November 29, 2024

User interfaces today are way too complicated. How often do you find yourself clicking through endless menus or jumping through a bunch of options just to get something done? A couple of weeks ago, I had the chance to listen to Ilan Twig’s (CTO and Co-Founder of Navan) keynote about how UIs will drastically change with the use of LLMs.

Right now, most UIs force you to click 10 to 15 times to finish even the simplest tasks. The main way we still interact with computers is with a mouse or with keyboard shortcuts. But the future sounds way better, simpler, and smarter. Thanks OpenAI. And everyone else. And for Logitech and everyone else, you’re f#ck3d.

Pretty soon, menus might be a thing of the past. You don’t need to be clicking through the sea of possible actions. ”Where was that… option” is history soon. Let’s be real: I don’t need to see 80% of the current information every SaaS tool shows me. This means a smoother experience for everyone.

Man, how can I say I love the ”info-to-action” capability of LLMs. You don’t just get what you are asking, but they can also predict, contextualize and carry out tasks based on what you write or say. Whether we are talking about booking a trip, managing finances, or anything else, LLM-driven interfaces will get you sh*t done more effectively.

This also means that these solutions are really customizable and scalable. With AI in the mix, users can tweak these tools to work better for everyone. We’ll see a new interface revolution - a whole new way of interacting with tech.

As a creative and UIUX engineer, the most important thing for me to study is how human-technology interaction will develop with these new tools. The change for the masses won’t be easy. They just learned to use a smartphone efficiently, and now we’ll want them to use their bank accounts with speech commands. We’ll have a lot of work to do, but we’ll get there.

I couldn’t be more hyped to see what’s coming. The possibilities here are literally endless.

See you or you see me,
